Failure Is the Condiment

March 28, 2018 0

Many of us have been taught that not achieving immediate pleasure is a need. Failure is life's way of moving us in a different way and actually letting we greet eventually achieving that success we have been endeavouring towards.
Failures have given us a true understanding of self and drove us to attain that success that we envy. Failure is not an end, it is only a beginning. That failure makes us rethink to constructs a new plan, pushing us in a direction we may have not originally planned.
FAILURE IS A BEND IN THE ROAD, NOT THE END OF THE ROAD. LEARN FROM FAILURE AND KEEP MOVING FORWARD - Roy T. Bennett
Victorious personalities relish their past failures because they consider them experiences that added value to their life. And there is nothing better than the feeling of success after years of endurance, struggles, and tribute.
Our failures do not define us, they encourage us. We can accept falling short of a goal but we could never live with ourselves if we gave up trying. Just one line in the sand on the success side of our life is worth all of those hash marks in the failure column. A few dashes of inadequacy and a sprinkling of botched attempts make that main course of success that much tastier! Failure is not the end, with the right mindset; it will catapult your success.
Failure is not the end of the road. In fact it is the beginning of a beautiful journey. Success is neither a cup of tea nor a piece of cake. It is something more than an achievement. Unfortunately many of us give up and do not like to follow the experience of failing. It's impossible to taste success in life without experiencing some kind of failure.
Nobody in this world chooses to fail, but everyone tastes the bitter cup at some point in their lives. It serves as a mirror at each end of our life. It reveals our strengths, weakness, and helps in demonstrating ourselves by strengthening our efforts.
Failure doesn't mean we quit; it means we just need to try harder. It is just an experience or lesson which drives a person to his success until he will not give up.
Failure doesn't mean that everything is over; it means that you have a chance to try something new. It doesn't mean that everything is finished; it implies that you have an opportunity to have a go at something new.
Society doesn't reward defeat, and we won't find many failures documented or written in history books.
Sometimes we don't fail. We try our effort in wrong fields. Our talents are measured in a way that are not meant to be. So it's necessary to know why you failed. Knowing you are judged in a wrong manner you have to change your forte. It's not failure, just a new beginning and this time in the correct turf

Why The Fear Of Success Is Nonsense - It's The Fear Of Hard Work That Frightens People Most

March 11, 2018 0

Is The Fear Of Success Is Real?

I might risk alienating some people in this article, possibly offending others. However, if it means forcing you to think about the topic differently, I will have done my job to serve you.

Is fear of success real?
Is it possible to have a fear of: wealth, recognition, serving others, playing bigger, impacting humanity and having your work serve a wider audience?
Fear of success, I call nonsense.
I've never heard of someone being diagnosed by therapist with fear of success syndrome, notwithstanding those who experience trauma or some form of PTSD. There is always something else lurking beneath the surface. It requires deeper investigation to uncover what the hidden fears are.
Fear of success is a disguise because it convinces you success is possible.
It is not. It is never within reach.
Even at the last minute, circumstances can change at the drop of a hat.
You can toil away for years and not strike upon success while other people strike it lucky within a few months or years. They will tell you how they followed a specific formula that ensured their success.
There isn't a formula that will ensure success because the term means something different to you and me.
The same formula that worked for them may not work for you and millions of others. That's why online courses that guarantee results seldom work. You need to get close-up with the individual to serve their needs if they want to succeed.
Why would anyone fear the very thing they want so much?
The very thing they put their lives on hold for?
The very thing for which they sacrifice their: health, family and personal relationships?
I get that you can fear the trappings of success if it happens quickly, yet for many this isn't something to worry about because not everyone will experience success like J. K. Rowling.
I don't understand why the fear of success is real. Am I naïve to think that success will be handed to a person overnight if they follow the rules and work hard?
Come on, surely we know by now there is no such thing as an overnight success. Those who are ascribed this label have been toiling away at their skill from many years, maybe even decades.
Success Is Guaranteed To No One
Countless people come to mind who pursued their careers until they achieved success. You can't apply a formula to success because in the hands of the wrong person, success is like handing the lottery to someone with poor money management skills.
I appreciate the idea of replicating your mentors to achieve success. Yet, some people starting out will experience a different result because there are many unknown factors that contribute to success.
For this reason, I believe fear of success is really the fear of hard work. It is what author Steven Pressfield calls resistance that stops many from achieving their finest work. Here resistance holds the individual back from writing the first draft of a book they've been wanting to pen for years.
Resistance stops you sitting down to hone your craft or focus on deliberate practice to fine tuning your motor skills.
Jeff Olson says in The Slight Edge that taking action can be easy or hard, it depends on your outlook: "Here's the problem: every action that is easy to do, is also easy not to do."
A client whom I working with recently shared a photo posted outside her young son's classroom that read: "Why can't I skip my 20 minutes of reading tonight?"
A 'C' student who reads one minute each day, equates to 180 minutes in a school year. This is the equivalent of 8,000 words per year or the 10th percentile on standardised tests.
A 'B' student who reads five minutes each day, equates to 900 minutes in a school year. This is the equivalent of 282,000 words per year or the 50th percentile on standardised tests.
An 'A' student who reads 20 minutes each day equates to 3,600 minutes in a school year. This is the equivalent of 1,800,000 words per year or the 90th percentile on standardised tests.
By the end of sixth-grade an 'A' student will have read the equivalent of 60 whole school days. A 'B' student will have read only 12 school days. Which student would you expect to have a better vocabulary? Which student would you expect to be more successful in school and in life?

Fear of success or fear of hard work you say?

Hard work and persistence is something children are made aware of at a young age, for they are taught that nothing comes easy. It becomes clear as they pass from year to year some of their schoolmates earn lower grades while others excel.
Hard work requires commitment, dedication and perseverance and if you have satisfied all these requirements, there's still no guarantee the pot of gold awaits you.
Hard work is terrifying because it means putting your heart and soul on the line with little or no success guaranteed. It requires discipline, a tenacious will and determination to become a student of knowledge, skill and wisdom
Hard work is not for everyone and only a few become successful because they are willing to dedicate themselves to their skill. They are willing to become the best instead of mediocre skill and talent.
Pursue Excellence And Success Will Follow
The same principle I described earlier to students applies to many other areas such as sports, music and the creative fields. For example, there's no such thing as a child prodigy violinist. Behind every genius is a student who practices 7-8 hours a day with the right mentors and teachers to guide their musical career.
You cannot leave success to chance. It must be nurtured and cultivated and given your undivided attention. You must greet it with humility and respect because like the wind, it can turn at a moment's notice and go in search of someone else who will create the right environment for it to flourish.
"Bear in mind though, that there is a difference between demanding success and just merely wishing for it. You should find out what this difference is, and take advantage of it," writes Napoleon Hill in The Law of Success in Sixteen Lessons.
Success is fickle.
Success is an antagonist.
It will serve you if you oblige it through hard work and labouring away day in day out, month in month out, year in year out. Success is not something to be pursued, but is awarded you as a result of hard work, grit and dedication.
The message is clear according to author Brendon Burchard who writes in High Performance Habits: How Extraordinary People Become That Way: "Be more intentional about who you want to become. Have vision beyond your current circumstances. Imagine your best future self, and start acting like that person today."
If you want success, put in the hard work.
If you want success, pursue excellence.
If you want success, dedicate yourself to your life's task.
If you want success, stop making excuses why it hasn't showed up and do the work to draw it closer to you.
If you want success, stop playing small and create impeccable value for others.
Put their needs first before yours. Serve them in the best way possible without wanting anything in return. Do it for the love of the game. The love of your passion.
If you want success, make a commitment and never give up until your hard work is rewarded for the years of putting your heart and soul on the line.
The hard work will accompany you as you realise your greatest potential and persevere in the face of unwelcoming circumstances.

Control the Mind

Your mind is not designed to get results. It is just neutral energy which works in the direction that you want it to.
For example, if you channelize positive energy your mind makes everything else work and when you lose control of your thoughts, it blocks your progress.
It is interesting to note that positive thinking needs efforts; however, negative thinking comes in uninvited and spoils the hygiene of your mind. Both positive and negative thoughts try to beat each other on a daily basis, and the winner determines your state-of-being in this world.
Thoughts determine actions and therefore it is vital to know what is controlling the mind. In most cases, it is negative thoughts.
A negative mind makes you feel like a victim of life. It fills you with fear, anger, and jealousy making you a bitter person. You will think life people as unfair and become rude or diffident. You make the subconscious mind work in the reverse order and fill your mind like 'I can't do it,' or 'I don't like my job,' or 'no one loves me,'and eventually, you make life look difficult and challenging.
On the other hand, the positive mind is always seeking success. It is ready for self-improvement. It believes in creating a world of possibilities for self and others.
It is filled with trust, happiness, and understanding. The mind is full of positive thoughts like, 'I choose to 'succeed,' / I trust people / they will support me,' or 'I will make my dreams come true.'
The right way of thinking invariably keeps you focused and fills your life with joy and results.
Take stock of your life right now! Be truthful to yourself and find out what controls your mind - the positive or the negative thinking?
If the answer is negative then it's time for action. Catch yourself being negative and enforce a corrective action for every thought and every word that you utter. It is as simple as that!
It is said that you become the average of the five people you hang around with, so avoid the company of winner and cynics and choose to be powerful, successful and happy people.
Your actions today will be determined what you will become tomorrow, so act positively. Stay focused on your goals work with passion and commitment to make them a reality. Expect challenge along the path and face them a with confidence. Do not get bogged down by temporary setbacks. Take responsibilities for what happens to you, no excuses, no blaming others for your failures. Keep fighting failure until you achieve success. Keep fighting negative thinking up till you convert it to positive! The game is on, are you ready?

Why Knowing Yourself Is The Foundation Of Personal Growth

As you work to grow in different areas in you life, it is important to really know yourself. The concept of not knowing yourself may sound preposterous to some people, but hear me out. Because we live such hectic lives, it is important to take time to become reacquainted with ourselves. It is very easy to get so focused on living life that we lose ourselves in the bustle and bustle. With every phase in life, we change and evolve, and if all goes as planned, we should not be the same person we were 5 years ago. This is not to say that everything about us has to change, but it is perfectly natural and healthy to mature and grow in different areas.
Knowing yourself can help you improve your work ethic because you can really understand your limitations and know when you are pushing yourself too hard. If you are a self starter like me, you would probably work for 24 hours a day if you could. In fact, you've probably had to make yourself step away from your work one more than one occasion. While this self starting attitude is a good thing, it can also be a problem. If you aren't careful, your desire for success can drive others away from you and actually ruin relationships. You may be thinking, "I thought we were supposed to be able to accomplish everything." That is true, but sometimes you can bite of much more than you can chew, and running yourself into the ground to accomplish goals in not healthy. The beauty of accomplishing goals and achieving personal growth is discovering the balance of work and play.
While it is important to know your limits, knowing yourself helps you to know what you can't accomplish as well as what you can accomplish. Many times, people don't push themselves to accomplish real goals simply because thy think don't think they'll be successful. Once you really know yourself, you will know what you can accomplish. However, if you never try, you'll never know how much you can truly accomplish.
When you know yourself, it is easier to keep yourself motivated. It you met someone for the first time, and they asked you to encourage them without giving you any details about their life, you would have a hard time encouraging them. By being aware of the types of things that keep you motivated, you will be less likely to reach that rock bottom point where you feel like your world is crumbling around you. It is best to constantly encourage and motivate yourself as your grow and mature.
How do you react to disappointment? What do you do when you're sad? How often do you need to take time to truly relax? In order to maintain balance in your life, you have to constantly ask yourself these types of questions. Not only do you need to know yourself in order to have a strong foundation for personal growth, but you also have to be willing to motivate yourself when things are less than ideal.
Are YOU Ready to Seize Control of Your Life and Progress to Success? It's time for you to live up to your full potential.

Importance Of Failure

Failure is a word that no one wants to hear. It is the biggest fear of a human being yet it is faced by every human being on earth at least once in their life. We need to learn how to deal with this word 'failure'.
A lot of people in this world give up on their lives just because they couldn't achieve something they desire. People ignore the fact that failure helps the man to distinguish what he did wrong.
Here are some tips which can help you get into the positive side of life and change the failure into victory.

1. SAY NO TO GIVING UP

Before starting anything that you think will give you success, promise yourself that you will never give up if you failed at this particular task. This promise to self makes your mind ready for both failure and triumphs. But what if you didn't do that in the start? Then always remember that it is never too late. If you think that now you can do nothing or you are over, you are just making an excuse.

2. LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES

This is the opportunity that you should not let go of. Suppose you are in a football ground. You are playing alone and there is a goalkeeper. You make an aim and strike the football but the goalkeeper stops it. This goalkeeper is life. It is challenging you at every point and it will continue to do so till you take your last breathe. You strike the ball for 9 times in a row and fail. But in the tenth attempt, you strike it in such a manner that you retrieved those 9 'in a row failures'. That's how it works. You cannot quit till you leave the ground. And if you leave the ground, you gave up. Those 9 attempts proved that you somehow learnt from your mistakes.

3. NEVER THINK THAT YOU'VE GOT ONLY PLAN A

The worst thing you can do after failing at some project is thinking that it was the only plan you could ever think of. Don't ever underestimate yourself. There is always another plan. If plan A fails Plan B and if plan B fails Plan C. If you are into achieving something, no one or nothing in this world can stop you rather all the world will conspire to make you achieve it.

4. POSITIVE MINDSET

This is the most important thing that you need to live a contented life. Always think positive. Spread positivity. Never let yourself down. If you bring negativity around you, it will not let you achieve your dreams. Positivity is all we need to grow and establish ourselves in this world.
People need to let go of the bad things or failures faced and should start prioritizing over positivity. By doing this particular act, they can achieve their life goals and master the game of life.

Never Let What You Can't Do Interfere With What You Can Do

It's it difficult to keep our focus. I think it has something to do with things or events that we allow into our lives to distract us. Not all of these things are bad in nature, but they become a problem when we allow them to distract us from viewing at life.
There are various things that competes with our time. The moment we allow them to take too much; we lose our focus. We don't have to cut these distractions out entirely, we just need to keep them in check.
No one can serve two masters at the same because the tendency is either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. Do one thing at a time and try to manage your time efficiently.
We should not dwell on regrets. It's important to understand that it's normal to commit mistakes and failures. What's important is how we learn from them. Stop looking back, forgive and forget and then compile all those lessons you've learned to move on with life. Never let regrets or disappointments distract you from reaching your dreams and aspirations in life.
Becoming complacent is also important in doing what you want. It's one thing to experience happiness and be content with yourself but never let yourself get so comfortable that you're no longer hungry for change. You don't need to change anything especially in your personality. Do not do something just to please others. Make sure that it makes you feel good and secure. I am sure, you would already be wildly successful.
What you're doing today can always be improved on and enhanced if you allow yourself a room for improvement. But still do it for yourself not for others. Keep your drive strong. You can always afford to learn something new from your everyday experience and even from the people that surrounds you. They might criticize you but in the end, you alone, can decide for yourself. Don't allow their words to affect you. Never let anyone define who you are.
Though, I am willing to bet that there's at least one part of your life you'd like to change or improve, but you might not know how. Maybe you know what to do but don't have the energy or motivation to even start. Just be open for change.
Don't let what you can't do interfere what you can do. Those things are just one per cent of your total being. You can learn from those negative comments and do better as long as you are willing to give a try. In other words, we don't get a choice about living our lives if we allow our circumstance to affect us.
Bottom line is the fact that we need to know what matters most to each of us.
Most of us live in a life defined by other people who believe we need to know or who we need to be. But honestly, what we do is nobody's business. It is ours alone to make.
