Do What Is Right, Not What Is Easy

March 09, 2018 0

It is so important to do what is right, not what is easy, when you believe in something, even when the rest of the world seems against you. Yes, it takes a lot of courage to be in a situation that requires you to stand 'alone.' But why avoid such a confrontation just to feel safe and never live a full life.

Where in life do you take the easy or convenient way? Why don't you do what is right in your heart? What kind of investment are you making in you? And what would you do if you were not afraid?
You should keep the last question in mind and use it as your trick for doing the right thing. In life, we must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy. But the decision to say yes to a comfort zone and no to getting outside the box affects you more than you can think. It becomes an unconscious and automatic reason to continue behaviors you want to change.
But no matter how frightening, you should know that it is always worth it to do the right thing! There is only one problem with doing what is right; it is often not easy. In fact, it can be challenging. And the truth is that countless of times, we avoid doing the right thing because it is uncomfortable or so hard. On top of that, we might get rejected and even hated for it. Yet, that is what makes the difference between being a lion or a sheep.
"Life has a way of testing a person's will, either by having nothing happen at all or by having everything happen all at once." - Paulo C.

 our Choice: Right or Easy

But in your everyday life, you are persistently in positions that require you to make choices. Some are nearly automatic while others may need more thought on your part. You can do what is easy first, but then your life will become difficult. However, if you do what is right and hard first, one day your life will get easier.
When you think back on your life, there are times that you made easy or convenient choices, which allowed you to be just an ordinary person. But in truth, when you make such decisions, you find afterward that life sucks. You feel empty, alone, and even cynical. And you often end up having regrets or to start all over again.
So instead, you should look at the circumstances that you want, and if you cannot find them, create them. Go out there into the world and make it happen. It is what I am doing right now. And always remind yourself that you have greatness within you.
"The right way is not always the popular and easy way. Standing for what is right when it is unpopular is a true test of moral character." - Margaret C.S.

 Doing What Is Hard

And yes, doing the right thing is never easy. If it were, all of us would do it, and we would live in a perfect world. Sadly, it is not the case. Therefore, I take my hat off to anyone who tries to do the right thing and attempts to make a difference by doing what is hard.
So, do not base your future on where you are now or on your circumstances, but rather understand that it won't stay that way and that one day, it will all come to pass. What is possible for any successful person is also possible for you. It is only a matter of the heart!
As a result, these hard but right moments will help you feel victorious in life. It is not easy, but it will show that you encouraged yourself to make decisions to enlarge your comfort zone to a new and more significant level. And these are the moments that provide you with great reward and allow you to feel that you are on the right path.

Do What Is Right

So, how much time do you work on your dreams each day? In the last 90 days, how many books did you read? In the previous year, what new skill or knowledge have you applied to your life? If I ask, it is because if you want to go to where you want to be, you have to do what is right, and not what is easy. You have to lay one brick at a time, even when you do not feel like it.
As you do it, you might feel like the choice is quite difficult. It may be something which pushes you to reach beyond your current ability and confidence. But you need to feel motivated because it will affect your life and the lives of those you love and care for, often for the better.
If you are truthful with yourself, you know you had the experience of doing what is easy at times in life. It takes courage to do what is right and become who you are. But there is nothing greater than knowing what you want and spending the rest of your natural life going after it.
"Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds." - Albert Einstein

 Rise Above What Is Easy

So do not be afraid to stand 'alone' and rise above mediocrity and what others think. Listen to your intuition, and choose to do what is right. You should never take the easy road, but rather the correct path, no matter how long you have to travel.
And never be afraid to do what is right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. If you look the other way, you will inflict deep wounds on your soul and live with regrets for the rest of your life. But when you stand up for what you believe in and uphold the truth, you can walk away without remorse, regardless of the outcome.
"People of character do the right thing even if no one else does, not because they think it will change the world, but because they refuse to be changed by the world." - Michael Josephson

Tips to Do What Is Right, Not What Is Easy

Nothing happens without some struggle, so look beyond instant gratification and see the big picture. Remember that everything you do today affects who you become tomorrow. Here are some tips to do what is right instead of what is easy.
Have a traditional 'To Do' list but also a 'To Stop' list which pinpoints what habit you want to break and then commit to replacing it by doing the right thing.
Think about what you would say if you were not afraid. Consider what would make you proud of yourself. It might sound strange at first, but it helps you get over the difficulties you encounter.
Choose what type of person you want to be. Learn to say no to the crowd and what is easy. People may still tempt you at times but stand your ground. Remind yourself that such behaviors are not made by the type of person you want to become.
Push yourself to take the first step or take a risk. Instead of over thinking how a situation might play out, be bold and make the first move. Once you do, the wheels are in motion. Often, it is not the smartest who wins, but the most daring.
Know why you are doing it. Have a purpose. Realize your 'Why.' Why do you want to lose weight? Create a business? Become successful? Then the how will follow.
"When you do the right things in the right way, you have nothing to lose because you have nothing to fear." - Zig Z.
Those are some of the tips that can help if you struggle with inspiration to do what is right instead of what is easy. I cannot promise you that it won't feel uncomfortable or painful. But when looking back, you can be proud you stood up for what you believed in, instead of following the crowd. And that is the 'all' point!

When Things Get Slow, Get Unyielding Perseverance

I could do a standard article very easily about motivation and how to get motivated, but it would sound like total tripe. I am going to do an article on when existence and life become like a traffic jam and too slow for patience. I am going to do an article on pushing to the front when things become jammed. I am going to do an article on situations in life that require that patience that moves a "giant iron ball" with strength, grits and more. For in existence and life, there are some goals worth not yielding on, and your genuine aspirations are one of them. When I think of techniques of coping, unyielding resolve and perseverance come to mind. Especially as I think of when life gets "too slow for comfort" at times or "a traffic jam happens" at an important point in progress.
Today, at times in this day, I understand and feel (in that order) I am at the point where unyielding resolve and perseverance are needed, especially when everything seems to be standing still and going nowhere except for "business as usual".
Listen, let me bring this down a bit. We cannot always have forward movement in life that flows "right". Sometimes, we all have those down times where the flow seems to stop, that is when we must become unyielding and powerful. For within those down times are the best opportunities for development really when thought about seriously and taken as such seriously.
Existence is in that vein as good as we let it be. What I mean by that statement is: We can either perceive the down times as times to quit or times to develop in genuinely better ways. Me, I prefer not to quit, but to develop in genuinely better ways. That is the crux point of what this article is about also: Unyielding perseverance is what genuine progress comes down to slow and hard or fast and easy. It is not how we are in ease and speedy development that defines our power, but it is how we are when it is slow and hard that defines us, really. If everything is going smooth, fast and good, it is almost always easy to deal. But what defines us is how we use the down times or times of inconvenience that shows our power or weakness.
I was thinking of a scene from the Bruce Lee movie "Enter The Dragon" where Bruce Lee sat down to meditate instead of try to force the issue and fight his way out. Sometimes, traffic jams in life and stoppages are just like that, we must be all right with it and develop the power to win over them. Know that the real loss is giving up genuinely, and that there are more ways to do it. For if it is conceivable rationally in consciousness, it is possible. What do you think the first and only genuine law of invention is? In my opinion it is this: Whatever the mind can conceive and genuinely believe it can achieve. After all flying machines and light bulbs were considered impossible against the same principle until they were invented, right? The possible can be conceived, believed and achieved if there is the resolve and perseverance to genuinely do it.

Realizing Your Authentic Inner Power Is The Key To Happiness

In the world we have always been in search of happiness, and today more so than ever before, we are realizing that authentic true inner power is the path to happiness.
Leaders of spirituality and inner peace going way back have phrased that happiness comes from within.
It seems that as time progresses and as we humans grow from within, we're finding true meaning of life at our inner core, and learning to reflect that abundance outwardly.
This state of reflection principle is what the most highly effective individuals who have ever been among us have learned to live by.
As we open our minds more and more as time goes by, we're seeing that this is how successful people grow.
Take, as an example, the pessimist and optimist.
When unwanted or bad things occur, the wrong-minded pessimist believes it will not last long, but will undoubtedly undermine his life.
He feels he's up against too strong of a wall and will not be able to fear and prevail and self-doubt become his life.
The right-minded optimist being more reasonable, he knows he will overcome life adversities presented him with the use of time.
The optimist concerns it as a momentary obstacle and tackles removing the obstacle. He runs the risk of more, however these efforts offer implying to his life and he reconciles it.
To "win while someone else must lose" is what culture has been teaching for centuries, and for that reason we live among fear and self-doubt instead of within our own holiness.
The Course in Miracles states, "You may still think that holiness is impossible to understand, because you can not see how it can be extended to include everyone."
There is enough on the subject of the path to happiness or the key to happiness, which would fill a library, but what kind of success would give you a sense of control over your life.

In Search of Happiness Efforts

(Please note in a previous discussion I went deep to suggest how to be happy with yourself and answering to, 'what do I need to be happy', is in how to begin finding happiness inside you.)
To generate success and great earnings, it must come through the idea that everyone wins. It must be efforts on behalf of a cause higher than oneself.
By truly helping others with sincerity, helpfulness, and issues for the well-being of others, we might need to take some time from our hectic schedule to 'coach' a struggling beginner.
This mindset uses a much easier path to happiness and being successful.
Personally, in search of happiness I have not set objectives so high that it would plunge me into depression if not achieved.
Offered the years (like me) you have labored the business world, you need to prevent the "joy-busters" from derailing your efforts.
Just then can you start measuring up to authentic happiness.
You will find more miracle-mindedness and creativity, better relationships, much healthier and energetic thoughts, leading to newer ideas and a more satisfying success level when you live within your naturalness.
The Course in Miracles teaches, "To you the miracle can not seem natural, because what you have done to hurt your mind has made it so unnatural that it does not remember what is natural to it.
Is there a difference between the life you have-- and the life you want?
Do you reflect outcomes, or do you assume excuses?
You can change this today; be that singer or actor/actress who is tone-deaf, but sings and charms people anyway for the authentic happiness it provides.
Perhaps at this point in your life you believe that things are not in line or formatted the way you 'd like.
You will find the path to happiness and improve your life much faster and reach your objectives easier if you can be happy in that truth.
To finding happiness!

Take Massive Action to Complete Your Project - Perfection is Over-Rated

Ok... I hate to burst your bubble but someone has to do it. You're not perfect. Your project won't be perfect the first time through; the garage isn't going to get done all in one day and that six-pack you wanted? It'll happen all right but not before you spend many hours in the gym. With a trainer. Eating only tuna and lettuce.
Perfectionism is a major cause of procrastination. All too often we won't even start something new because we're sure we won't do it right. We cede the game even before the playing has started. When we're really determined to end up in a state of flawlessness we make the tasks getting there all that more difficult. We get through the project after much pain and misery and more often than not are too tired to even realize the wonderful job we've done. Next time we go to do that job? All we can remember is that the last job was painful and didn't work out as well as we wanted. What do we do? Work harder the next time around. This might never stop!
Perfectionism is procrastination when we use it to postpone tasks ("I can't start my project until I know the 'right' way to do it." or ("This will never be perfect. What's the use in wasting time starting on it!") Don't think this way! Set new goals that allow for error. One of Warren Buffet's top five lessons in life is to not focus too much on the outcome. Just show up and get started!
There are lots of folks not waiting for the nirvana of perfectionism. Let's go over a few examples to really cement this concept. What about someone getting rich on perfect software. Nope..think Bill Gates and Windows 95. He didn't wait for perfect. What about Da Vinci and the Mona Lisa. There's a gal with a few character flaws! Don't even get me started on Jackson Pollock. There's a fellow who just went for it!
I get it already. The people we look up to, admire or just marvel about aren't perfect. How about this one? Having the perfect hair in real estate? Nope. Don't need it there either. Think Donald Trump. Clearly you don't even have to have good hair to be mega successful! (Sorry, couldn't resist!)
Perfectionism is a belief that anything less than perfect is unacceptable. This will shut you down before you've even started. I'm not saying give it up and forget all about being the best. I'm saying being the best should mean striving for excellence. More importantly, it should mean striving for your excellence.
