Forming a Good Habit Is Like Climbing a Stairway

April 10, 2018 0

To form a good habit is like climbing up a staircase. You place your right foot on to the first step; you press your (right) foot firm on it, while moving on to the next step with your left foot; you place your (left) foot firm on it, while moving on to the third step with your right foot; you place your (right) foot firm on it, while moving on to the forth with your left foot, and this recursive process goes on until you, finally, reach your desired destination, which in this particular instance is a specific and specified floor of a building you would like to reach.
Forming any good habit on a firm footing, making it an integral part of one's life, is just like that. If someone wants to form a good habit, whatsoever, he should and must not try to jump at it all at once. For, by doing so he may never be able to acquire it. Developing the habit slowly and in steps, setting small goals, will slowly, but surely, lead one to that desired habit. Because, forming a good habit becomes much easier when done in several steps over a considerably long period of time. Now, a hypothetical instance of how this method could possibly be applied in practice is in order.
Mr. Smith usually gets up from his bed around seven in the morning. He usually wakes up at around 6:30, and tosses and turns for about half an hour before, finally, getting up from bed. He has always been late for office, and lately his boss Mr. Do Little has been pretty hard on him on this issue. Now, Mr. Smith has finally decided that he must get up from bed at least an hour earlier. In other words, he would like to get up at 6:00 rather than his usual 7:00 in the morning.
Mr. Smith plans to attain this goal in two steps. At the first step, he plans to wake up at 6:00 in the morning and get up at 6:30. He sets his 'alarm clock' according to his wakeup time; each morning, for three months, Mr. Smith wakes up at 6:00 o'clock by its ringing, and gets up at 6:30. Consequentially, he is able to reach office each morning a little earlier than before, making his boss Mr. Do Little a little less upset for his late arrival.
After three months of doing this with success, Mr. Smith plans to wake up at 5:30 in the morning and get up at 6:00. He sets his 'alarm clock' according to his wakeup time. Each morning, for the next three months, Mr. Smith wakes up at 5:30 by the ringing of his alarm clock, and gets up at 6:00. Consequentially, he is able to reach office each morning much earlier than before, in fact at a time he is supposed to reach, leaving Mr. Do Little with absolutely no scope for complaining.
When I was in the USA, working towards my bachelor degree in Economics at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, I had no television at my place. I barely watched TV in those days. After getting back to my country of origin, I picked up the habit of too much TV watching. I used to watch TV, day and night. I wanted to give up this bad habit. And how did I do it? I did it in several steps.
First, I restricted TV watching to four hours in the evening; then, to three hours; and finally to only two hours. I persisted along each phase for months until I was comfortable enough with the change, and ready to go on to the next phase.
Eventually I reached the third phase (two hours of TV watching in the evening), along which I was persisting for an indefinite period of time when, all of a sudden my TV was broken-down. Since, by that time I got used to watching TV for only two hours a day, and was actually ready to go on to the fourth and final phase of 'not watching TV at all'; having to go without watching TV at all was not much of a bother.

Failure Is the Condiment

March 28, 2018 0

Many of us have been taught that not achieving immediate pleasure is a need. Failure is life's way of moving us in a different way and actually letting we greet eventually achieving that success we have been endeavouring towards.
Failures have given us a true understanding of self and drove us to attain that success that we envy. Failure is not an end, it is only a beginning. That failure makes us rethink to constructs a new plan, pushing us in a direction we may have not originally planned.
FAILURE IS A BEND IN THE ROAD, NOT THE END OF THE ROAD. LEARN FROM FAILURE AND KEEP MOVING FORWARD - Roy T. Bennett
Victorious personalities relish their past failures because they consider them experiences that added value to their life. And there is nothing better than the feeling of success after years of endurance, struggles, and tribute.
Our failures do not define us, they encourage us. We can accept falling short of a goal but we could never live with ourselves if we gave up trying. Just one line in the sand on the success side of our life is worth all of those hash marks in the failure column. A few dashes of inadequacy and a sprinkling of botched attempts make that main course of success that much tastier! Failure is not the end, with the right mindset; it will catapult your success.
Failure is not the end of the road. In fact it is the beginning of a beautiful journey. Success is neither a cup of tea nor a piece of cake. It is something more than an achievement. Unfortunately many of us give up and do not like to follow the experience of failing. It's impossible to taste success in life without experiencing some kind of failure.
Nobody in this world chooses to fail, but everyone tastes the bitter cup at some point in their lives. It serves as a mirror at each end of our life. It reveals our strengths, weakness, and helps in demonstrating ourselves by strengthening our efforts.
Failure doesn't mean we quit; it means we just need to try harder. It is just an experience or lesson which drives a person to his success until he will not give up.
Failure doesn't mean that everything is over; it means that you have a chance to try something new. It doesn't mean that everything is finished; it implies that you have an opportunity to have a go at something new.
Society doesn't reward defeat, and we won't find many failures documented or written in history books.
Sometimes we don't fail. We try our effort in wrong fields. Our talents are measured in a way that are not meant to be. So it's necessary to know why you failed. Knowing you are judged in a wrong manner you have to change your forte. It's not failure, just a new beginning and this time in the correct turf

When Nothing Goes Right, It's A Sign To Begin Using Your Creative Power

March 20, 2018 0

When you can answer to, where is my life going, by understanding and accepting your creative true power, even when it seems that, nothing goes right, you're opening the door for success in life. By having these ideas of a prosperous life we are able to live positive lives.
If we stay in self-doubt and other wrong-minded ego-based thoughts based on fear, doubt, and judgement and the like, those negative things, our dreams will never ever happen.
Our goals and objectives will be unlikely accomplished.
As individuals seeking a prosperous life, we ought to utilize our talents not only to recover ourselves and those around us, but also humankind as a whole.
Because alignment reinforces our ideas making us understand that we have a full and real potential within us to do more in our life.
You need to confess that words have different meanings and reflections for each individual.
For some abundance and prosperity suggests more cash and wealth while some may see it as success in business or in one's profession.
Naturally answering to, where is my life going, might be in the definition of having a loving household and a caring marital relationship.
It simply goes to reveal that it does not constantly mean material things.
Due to the fact that your creative power of magnificent heart and mind, is most likely one of the things that make you remarkable amongst the other species in the planet.
Yes, I mean we all simply need to tap into this creative power and utilize it so we might be able to meet and even discover a wonderful life of purpose and passion.
What are peace, love and money?
- Such things are energies that we see as truth.
- However such a belief is not pointed in just one instruction.
When your creative power is universal you can use that power to transform exactly what is taking place around you.
Something we have to remember when contemplating, where is my life going, is that there are principles that govern abundance.
Seasons come and go and in spite of everything, we are just unlimited beings. This is why we must strive for the highest excellent and hang on to things that we're passionate about.
When we feel that things are going in a wrong direction, and we're asking, where is my life going, this is the time that we need to reflect if the important things that are considered to be important, hold the same concern as they did before.
This must be surrendered and then changed to a favorable "right-minded" thought process, as the Course in Miracles terms, so we may produce something better if they do not.
In essence, we let go of the old to make space for the brand-new.
I've seen where some people use the idea of Prosperity and Abundance checks to attract more money.
Writing an Abundance Check
- An abundance check is simply a tool that can help you improve any area of your life.
- It can be a powerful idea to write a check of abundance and then let the Universe take care of the rest!
You could write down an amount that you feel comfortable with if you want to give it a shot. It is all about practice and feeling comfortable as you write abundance checks.
Needless to say, if you want more money (assuming you have little or no resistance), it can be useful to write down the exact amount on your abundance check.
If that's all you do.
In a previous session I discussed how to become successful in life fast by aligning to the Law of Manifestation
It was agreed you know you should be writing and creating more if you want to build an audience. You know you should be selling more if you want to make more money.
It is all about practice and feeling comfortable as you write abundance checks.
I know of a woman who practiced a similar approach by writing a letter to the universe, telling the universe what she was out to accomplish and needed help with the necessary resources.
She addressed it to the universe, put a postage stamp on it (with no return address) and put it in the mail box.
Needless to say, if you want more money (assuming you have little or no resistance), it can be useful to write down exactly what you need and then allow for the power of your subconscious to get to work on it.
- The power of the universe is within you!
- The problem is not knowledge.
You either have all the knowledge you need, or can have immediate access to that knowledge when you're mulling over thoughts like; where is my life going?
The Course in Miracles states, "Knowledge can be restored only when you meet its conditions. This is not a bargain made by God, Who makes no bargains."
The magnetic repulsion you feel keeps you from doing what you know you should be doing, already. And in order to win this war against yourself, you must first know your enemy.
Course in Miracles further states, "Knowledge is God's (the Universe) Will. If you are opposing His Will, how can you have knowledge?"
How do you begin this journey?
When you are properly aligned within you, to the core of who you are, you will always 'KNOW' what to do next.
By producing a list of exactly what is essential in your life, examining each one and after that finding out which of these have to go.
It is best to take notice of how you feel about that list and after that only keep what is worth to help you toward your passion.
This is likely the most fundamental part of any level of success in life.
Begin undergoing a 21 day cleansing process on how you think and on how you've been taking action on your objectives and goals if you're really serious.
Beyond that point, you can proceed with your life due to the fact that a prosperous life can be achieved by using your creative power as your guide.
So, what to do next?
When it seems nothing goes right, or you are questioning, where is my life going, look at the thoughts that may need some more cleansing, due to the fact that this is not something you neglect.
Remember, when we feel that nothing goes right, or things are not going our way, this is the time that we should reflect inwardly about, "What to leave in and what to leave out," as suggested in classic hit song, 'Against the Wind.'
Always be reviewing your list of what is important in your life and closely examining each item, and then take action on what you need to do next.
( Please note, I also suggest searching the net for helpful material on how to manifest money now with miracle minded secrets of perhaps, say, a millionaire mindset. Why not?)
To happiness and success in life!

How To Keep Your Heart In The Driver's Seat Without Letting Your Mind Hijack You

March 16, 2018 0

Develop A Strong Relationship With Your Heart

"What must I do to attain holiness?" said a traveller.
"Follow your heart," said the Master.
That seemed to please the traveller.
Before he left, however, the Master said to him in a whisper: "To follow your heart you are going to need a strong constitution."
The strong constitution Anthony de Mello speaks of is knowing the language of your heart and abiding by its wisdom.
The mind is notorious for leading us astray due to a simple reason: We believe and act out our thoughts. And we're not to blame, because the voices in our head are real.
However, thoughts are fleeting electrical impulses, while the heart's wisdom is true and constant. It is the silent whisper of the soul that speaks without drowning out your thoughts.
"Thoughts are not necessarily facts. Most of the time they're not even close," writes Donald Altman in Clearing Emotional Clutter: Mindfulness Practices for Letting Go of What's Blocking Your Fulfilment.
Many people are unable to make sense of The Language Of The Heart, let alone know it exists. But intuition is real and we're only now beginning to realise how powerful it is when utilised properly.
Whilst I concede there's a long way to go in understanding the heart's inherent capabilities, one thing is for certain; the heart is the centre of all wisdom.
At the HeartMath Institute, research suggests the heart sends more signals to the brain than the brain sends to the heart. Other biological processes known as Heart Rate Coherence represents a dynamic balance within the Autonomic Nervous System, so that positive emotions have a balanced effect on your mind and body.
The key is to develop an intimate relationship with your heart, instead of letting your thoughts steer you in a direction not of your choosing.
Have you noticed how your thoughts can sometimes lead you down a path of self-destruction? You wind up making wrong decisions because you trusted your thoughts were right.
Author Peter Francis Dziuban writes in Simply Notice: Clear Awareness Is the Key To Happiness, Love and Freedom: "If it ever seems as if thoughts are bombarding, sit back and calmly notice."

The Silent Deadly Thoughts

Those who are attuned to the language of their heart note how it speaks in silent whispers instead of drowning out their thoughts. The communication is encouraging and truthful without an agenda. Practices like meditation can help you to become more accustomed to the wisdom of your heart instead of the blaring thoughts in your mind.
Ultimately, it requires down the mental chatter to find peace and contentment within.
The heart is the seat of intuition and creative impulses while the mind is the seat of logic. However, logic is unable to delineate between non-linear dimensions and abstract information, since that is the realm of intuition.
To keep your heart in the driver's seat means to tune in to the silent impulses of the heart. To do this, recognise your intuitive drives and act on them more often instead of dismiss them as insignificant.
The more you engage intuition, the more you will come to appreciate and trust it. Most people rush about their daily lives caught up in their thoughts or consumed by their external surroundings. They rarely take the time to notice what is taking place beneath their thoughts.
"Being in touch with your feelings" is often touted as a good thing, a way to 'be in your heart,' to live a life that balances the thinking part of you with the feeling part," states Jan Frazier in The Freedom of Being: At Ease with What Is.
If you go about your day stimulated by external noise and mental chatter, this is bound to create stress since there's so much your body can handle.
"Paying attention to automatic thoughts is simply a habit we can change. When you shift into awareness-based knowing, automatic thinking moves into the background, and you experience true peace of mind," says psychotherapist and author Loch Kelly.
We must be aware of our thoughts without being invested in them. When I talk about thoughts in this instance, I am referring to the incessant, habitual thoughts that take place in the backdrop of your mind.
These are the silent deadly thoughts that if not attended to can cause emotional and physical problems down the line. For example, you might have an unstable relationship with a co-worker that suddenly spirals out of control. Soon, you are ruminating on ways to sabotage your colleague or trying to avoid them altogether.
You might dwell on the situation more than necessary. After many weeks, the sight of this person causes physiological responses in your body, such as an increased heart rate, sweating or a dull feeling in the pit of your stomach.
This is a case I've seen too often working with clients unable to switch off their thoughts.
Donald Altman offers the following advice for recognising such thoughts: "On the other hand, what if you simply observed the same thought as nothing more than a mental sensation? In other words, suppose you viewed it as no different than a physical sensation - except that it's happening in the mind?"

Develop More Of A Heart Based Awareness

As mentioned earlier, negative and positive thoughts create a physiological response in the body. If you are aware of it, your body will offer clues as to the truthfulness of your thoughts.
Much of the science behind this work was achieved by the late Dr Candace Pert, a neuroscientist and pharmacologist who said: "Your body is your subconscious mind." Meaning, your body communicates messages from your mind in the form of sensations, impulses or pain. If you are attentive to these physical sensations, you are better equipped to direct your thoughts.

So what can you do to stop your thoughts hijacking you?
First, find time for silence. As little as five minutes a day to begin with is a good starting point. You may find initially that your thoughts overwhelm you, however with continued practice this will settle as your mind becomes accustomed to the silence.
Loch Kelly says: "Research showing that meditation reduces stress demonstrates that the stress is not caused by the external situations we usually blame, but is generated instead by the previous location of identity in our thoughts."
Second, if you want to better understand your thoughts, journaling is a valuable exercise to notice the theme that underlies your thinking. The process of journaling helps you to transpose incessant thoughts onto paper instead of them dominating your mind.
So, in the earlier example of the heated exchange between you and your colleague, you might journal how you feel instead of ruminating on those thoughts. You may want to take it a step further and find your own solution to the problem. This way you become your own coach and mentor.
Through these exercises, you develop more heart based awareness and learn to trust your intuitive impulses. The key is to use logic and intuition interchangeably so your life's experiences become a mind-body experience.
So, when an assiduous thought takes place, you notice it before it creates an emotional and physical response in your body. The more you engage in this practice, the less addicted you are to your thoughts.
